2024-25 CP Cycling Officer Core
It takes a small army to run our beloved club. Here's who we are and what we're about.
President
Beckett McVoy
II'm a third-year political science major with a concentration in pre-law. I grew up in Boulder, CO, where I spent most of my free time racing bikes (MTB and Cyclocross) and skiing. Nowadays, I mostly ride all types of bikes in slow and pretend to be a competent student. When I'm off the bike, I'm either working on my bikes or trying to get myself killed skiing and climbing in the mountains.
Vice President
Caiden Hartrich
I'm a 3rd year Anthropology & Geography major with minors in City & Regional Planning and Environmental Studies. I'm from Bend, Oregon and consider myself a dirt connoisseur, gravel enthusiast and pavement afficionado with an undying love for type two fun. When I'm not riding, I... uh am doing homework or something, but that's beside the point.
Treasurer
Maxwell Dubow
I’m a third year math major with a concentration in applied math and a minor in data science. I come from Sausalito, CA, but I have lived most of my life abroad in Hong Kong, China. My hobbies are all things bike related (road bikes, mountain bikes, watching bike races, etc), as well as doing geography puzzles, messing with data and spreadsheets, and hiking. A fun fact about me is that before I moved to the United States in 2020, my main sports were ice hockey and rugby.
Student Coach
Finn Bourke
I'm a second year Kinesiology major with a concentration in exercise science. I'm from Portola Valley, CA and have always loved bikes. I enjoy riding fast or slow, far or short, on any surface out there. Outside of bikes, I like most every sport, spending time outside, games, music, and all sorts of adventures. A fun fact about me is I think that I have part of a sea urchin spine in my foot.
Social Coordinator
June Aarsen
I'm a 2nd year city and regional planning major from Madison, Connecticut and Santa Cruz. I enjoy skiing, art, music and long hikes. Fun fact: my bike's name is "The Tank."
Sponsorship Coordinator
Vaila Heinemann
I'm a third-year stats major from Mill Valley, California! I love being outside on wheels, feet, or skis... but mostly two chunky tires. When not riding, you can catch me planning a questionable adventure or working on all sorts of random projects (generally involving my Leatherman or sewing machine).
Mountain Coordinator
Trey Barber
Mountain Race Director
Gwen Ramsey
Hey I’m Gwen Ramsey and I grew up riding bikes, skiing, rafting, and other adventuring in Salida, Colorado. I'm a 3rd year Anthropology and Geography major and also getting minors in Environmental Studies and GIS. I love riding mountain bikes and exploring forest roads on my gravel bike. You'll even catch me out on the pavement once in a while, as a spin up Prefumo Canyon is hard to beat! A few fun facts are that I seem to have some interesting luck regarding wildlife while on the bike. I came face to face with the mountain lion on Madonna freshman year and have even been struck in the shoe by a rattle snake back home! I’m an avid Duolingo user with currently almost a 600 day streak, slowly trying to learn some Spanish. I'm once again excited to put on a rad mountain bike race this year as Mountain Race Director!
Road Coordinator
Sam Pflugh
Hey, I'm Sam and I'm a second year Anthropology and Geography major. I'm from Colorado and I love doing anything outside especially riding all kinds of bikes. Some of my favorite rides in SLO include East Cuesta and MDO. Fun Fact: I have a twin brother who doesn't look like me at all. I love to eat pasta and ice cream.
Road Race Director
Hannah Stackpole
Hi, I'm Hannah, your Road Race Director! I'm a third year Economics major, concentrating in Accounting, with minors in Spanish and Statistics, and I'm from Monterey, CA. If I'm not riding (which is rare), I'm probably doing something else outside, doing crossword puzzles, reading, or sewing. A fun fact about me is that I'm terrible at coming up with fun facts.
Community Outreach
Lane Keeling
Hi, I am Lane Keeling and I am a second year Environmental Engineer from San Luis Obispo. My hobbies are bikes and enjoy all types of riding: mountain, gravel and road, though mountain biking is my favorite. Fun fact: I coach for the local highschool mountain bike team.
Women's Coordinator
Kiera Ramirez
I'm a 3rd year animal science major from Salinas, CA. I enjoy baking, being outside, and watching sunsets. Fun fact: I high fived Kobe and the 2009 lakers team the year they won the NBA championship!
Bike Whisperer (Mechanic/ Loaner Bike Coordinator)
Garrett Leighton
Hey! I was born and raised in SLO, and I'm a 3rd year mechanical engineer. When I'm not biking, I like to bike, play drums and guitar, work on bikes, make videos, and bike. A fun fact about me is that my favorite animal is a platypus.
Secretary
Tyler Kunkel
Hi, I am a second year business major from Marin, CA. Have been riding bikes since I could walk. I have a little habit of breaking bike parts, including my frame making me into a halfway decent mechanic. You can find me all over SLO on my bike, from riding a fixie to class to enjoying the single track out at MDO.
